Hello!

A space where I hope you will find something insightful or inspiring for your journey.
A space I never imagined creating myself, until just a few years ago!
Roots
I grew up in Istanbul, the Queen of Cities, where continents, civilizations, and countless people and ideas have connected throughout history. I believe this instilled in me a deep passion for exploring the interconnectedness of life. This passion also inspired me to create this space, where I hope to share and exchange thoughts and experiences.

Philosophy

I define the core of my philosophy as Will to Know, and I am on the journey of The Grand Unison, the bridging of two universes: the one within and the one without. A few things help me on this journey: the affirmation of life, the wisdom of philosophy, the knowledge of science, and the magical beauty of art.
In my late 30s, I learned that affirmation of life (accepting life wholeheartedly with all its joys, struggles, suffering, and peace) is a good source of happiness and motivation to be productive.
Curiosity
Curiosity has been my guiding light, drawing me to life’s big questions, as per the wisdom of philosophy:
Where do we come from?
Where are we headed?
Why do we do what we do?
How are we connected?
Why do I have agency?
Why do I know that I have agency?
Why is everyone so similar yet so unique?
and more…

Career

Alongside these questions, I have also been inspired to expand my journey by advocating food science and engineering, a fascinating intersection of science, culture, and humanity’s most pressing challenges.
I studied food engineering and started my career in 2002 as an R&D engineer at a global food and beverage company, where I currently continue my journey as R&D Director. Along the way, I have had the privilege of getting to know wonderful people, visiting fantastic places, and leading diverse teams across the globe. This has been my door to the evolving knowledge of science.
Book

And more…

I am an avid soccer player. I enjoy our pick-up games a few times a week and stay slightly competitive in my Sunday league games. It is my meditation where I am wholly present in the moment.

Reading is another passion of mine. To balance my technical background, I mostly explore the humanities and social sciences, helping me make better sense of myself and the universe I am part of.

I deeply enjoy playing my Turkish musical instruments. Not professional, but at a level to help with big questions when science and philosophy fall short, which is the magical beauty of art.
Thank you for visiting. I hope you find something here that resonates with you…Something insightful and inspiring for your own journey.
I look forward to connecting, sharing, and continuing our Grand Unison journey together!
with gratitude,
Kaan
